Thanks Roberto and Joey for your help....I didn’t exactly find the problem, but 
worked around it by monitoring from the internal net instead of externally. So 
it wasn’t a problem with the cert.

It's a physical machine, no virtual hosting, doesn't have port 80 open, only 
443, I don’t think that makes the difference, only thing I can think of is some 
strangeness in the router config..I'm not sure.

I'll give the suggestions a try - out of curiosity. Thanks again.

Work great on all our physical and virtual sites (and we have lots of them) 
depending on how you setup the sites/hosts in opsview.
