Again just to hook into this,

We never use NRPE to check windows servers , and we check things like
services running , drive space , cpu , etc but also temps via snmp.

We always use nsclient++ (www.nsclient.org) in combination with SNMP to
setup monitoring. Check_nt is great in monitoring and easy to setup a
service check command in opsview.

Other port can be configured in the nsc.ini , just look for it on you
nsc client installation , just make sure your opsview service check is
also using the other port.

Subject: Re: [opsview-users] Port other than 5666for OpsView client

I don't see any faq entries on this, but I think this mailing list
article may help:

http://lists.opsview.org/lurker/message/20080402.212834.428ebaad.ja.html

Search for Port in the content, it looks like there is a file called
NSC.ini that you can change and then restart.

After that you will need to make sure the check_nrpe plugins all use the
new port that you defined.

Hope that helps!

Is there a way in the Host configuration to use a port other
than 5666 for communication with the NSClient++? I'm sure I'm missing
something simple on this configuration screen!
