You can check SMTP easily, but other stats should be monitored locally.
You can use NRPE or SNMP's exec function to run local scripts. This allows you 
to check all Postfix items you like.

I'm currently checking the incoming and outgoing queue size through an SNMP 
exec script. Works pretty fast and no need to set up NRPE.
