In our organisation we have been using Opsview for over a year now,
migrating from OpenView. Thank you for a great product.
We have recently seen a problem with too many passive alarms
(send_nsca) being received for HOST/service, which in turn lead to a
lot of notification being generated and sent to our ticket system.
Imagine closing a few thousand tickets :-(
I assume you have defined a passive service check?
Funnily enough, we just last week finished a feature in trunk where
"alert every failure" has a third option (disable, enable, enable with
re-notification interval). So passive results will not flood
notifications, though each alert will be logged (so you can see in
event view).
This is a complex change (Nagios code changes), so you'll have to wait
for 3.7.0, due mid April.
