Afternoon all, I was wondering if you could help me out with the following... I have a large number of service checks that run to monitor the health of Backup Exec jobs on a Windows server using SNMP traps and I need to add some more scenarios to the list of trap rules that I have (currently have OK, Completed with Exceptions and Failed) such as Cancelled, Missed etc.
I need to update over 100 service checks and the thought of doing this manually is unbelievably daunting. What I am thinking is to do something like: 1) Get a list of the relevant service checks that I want to check from the Opsview database 2) Run an Insert on the snmptraprules table for the service checks found in (1) to add the extra rules (copying an existing row) 3) Run a reload of Opsview from the web interface to generate the new configs What I am not sure about is the uncommitted field. I seem to remember that this is used by Opsview to find if there are changes since the last reload and warns that a reload is needed for the changes to take effect. What I cannot remember is whether or not this is required for the config to be regenerated. Also am I missing out anything/risking breaking anything major by updating the checks this way?
