Hi Rafaello, In the past I have had servers monitored with a mixture of the standard NRPE and the Opsview Agent installed. The benefit of the Opsview Agent is that the default configuration works with Opsview Server as well as Nagios.
You only need one of the agents installed to monitor with both servers. I would personally recommend using the Opsview Agent if installing it on new systems as there is less work in getting it up and running. I received a very good answer from Ton. Actually my problem now is addictional: the existing servers are monitored by a plain nagios platform, using nrpe compiled with disabled SSL. Since that server should bo monitored either by the current nagios system and by our new opsview platform, is it possible to have 2 different nrpe running on them? Alternatively, is it possible using the current no-SSL nrpe to be accepted by opsview server? Thank you very much! Raffaello
