hi,

our opsview server has stopped working :(

This is a vm on vmware, with debian lenny x86 fully patched.

I noticed yesterday that the monitoring server was swapping, so I
stopped the vm, upgraded its memory to 2GB and started it up again.

Now when I login the web ui, it all works until I try to see a service,
then I get a page with:

Whoops!

Error: Could not read host and service status information!

The most common cause of this error message (especially for new
users), is the fact that Nagios is not actually running. If Nagios is
indeed not running, this is a normal error message. It simply
indicates that the CGIs could not obtain the current status of hosts
and services that are being monitored. If you've just installed
things, make sure you read the documentation on starting Nagios.

If I start the opsview service manually, I get this:

nagios:~# /etc/init.d/opsview restart
No directory, logging in with HOME=/
Environment not set - have you run 'su - nagios'?

and the nagios process is not running.

Ideas? I have already rebooted the server, it does not help
