Title            :             SOFTWARE QA TEST ENGINEER
Location    :             San Jose, CA
Duration :             4-6 months

*Must-haves
*Need of a few candidates who are familiar with Intel’s x86 processor and
chipset technologies. If you have anyone available who would like to work
here in San Jose, CA I would love to speak with them.

*Overview Summary
*This position requires the candidate to have knowledge of chipset-level
hardware, x86 system architecture, UNIX/LINUX OS, C or Perl/Python
programming language and QA methodology and process. Experience with
low-level hardware/BIOS/Firmware bring up testing is plus.

*Key Responsibilities
*• Executing test plans to ensure that requirements have been met, that
system behavior is as expected and determining that the system is suitable
for release.
• Open defects and report status of testing during test cycles, produce
consolidated test reports on completion and advise on suitability for
release to customer.
• Creating test plans/requirements/cases by extracting the requirements
that need to be tested from available documentation and/or liaising with
the Development and other technical personnel .
• Building and maintain testing environment for test execution need.
• Contributing C program code for test automation effort.
• Working with development groups to debug open defects.
• To analyze the results of testing and customer feedback to recommend ways
forward to help influence general software quality.

*Skills & Qualifications
*• Strong knowledge of Intel x86 processor and chipset technologies.
• Strong knowledge of x86 hardware, system architecture and operating
systems.
• OS or Firmware bring up on hardware boards related testing experience.
• 5+ years C or Perl/Python programming language experience.
• Good understanding of software quality assurance processes and
methodologies.
• Understanding of Linux OS behaviors.
• Understanding of Windows OS behaviors.
• BS E.E/C.S/C.E. education background is required.
• A team player to work with cross-functional teams with varying skill-sets
and in different time-zones.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
