SharePoint Architect Location: Trumbull, CT (some remote working from home for 2 to 3 days a week permitted and extended hours working with colleagues in multiple time zones) Duration: 6+ months Rate: $50/hr on C2C The description is as follows: * The CTO Architecture function (Architecture Partnering, Architecture Expertise, and Security) will be among the early adopters of the Client's collaboration platform using Microsoft SharePoint technology. * This opportunity serves three purposes - first, to migrate IT Architecture content from the current Plumtree portal into a more searchable tool, second, to take advantage of the content housekeeping momentum the migration effort provides, and third, to consult with the Client applications team to create best practice for use in the wider IT community and eventually to other functions in the Client. The SharePoint migration will address both technical and human factors to make the most of Client's investment in the Microsoft platform. Key Responsibilities: * Recommend design for architecture TeamSites within the over IT TeamSite framework, policies and procedures, then implement approved design. * Work with permanent staff to determine eligibility for Plumtree content migration to SharePoint. This will include shared team content as well as published content. * Maintain permissions for TeamSites within scope, and work with site owners to complete migrations and set up subscriptions/notifications for site updates * Apply and enforce documentation standards. * Work with management to advice of decisions required, then execute on decisions taken using available resources and tools. Skills/Experience: * Previous experience with web design required. * Microsoft SharePoint experience desired. * General understanding of IT Architecture and its role in a large organization. * General understanding of basic change management and project management * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability and desire to work in a global virtual team.
