This is for my direct client opening for *Unisys Systems Mainframe Operations Specialist - Bismarck, ND*. This is a *long term contract*position. The hourly rate is *DOE * * * *Project Description: * * * Duties include, but are not necessarily limited to: • Responsibilities include executing and monitoring application batch operations at an individual Department level. • This includes evaluation of system problems and processing aborts to determine correct recovery and back out procedures to insure data integrity. • Also included are check and report printing, monitoring of interagency interfaces and loading of tapes for the recovery of databases and files. • Physical duties include, but are not limited to: a. Loading/unloading paper. b. Clearing printer jams as required. c. Separating printouts. d. Delivering printouts to appropriate bins. e. Loading/unloading tape cartridges. f. FTP’ing and other electronic file manipulations. • Required for this position is: a. A general understanding of the systems. b. The ability to effectively work with, at the Operational level, in a production environment. • E.g. A general understanding of COMS such that they know it is used to communicate with stations and requires various security rights to be established for the users, know how to bring the onlines up and down, what is occurring when this is done, good knowledge of MCP system commands, etc. c. The systems are: • Unisys systems (Libra), • MCP (51.190/8528), • DEPCON (Enterprise Output Manager 6.1), • WFL’s, • COMS (51.1). • Requires 4 years of current experience in this job class with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. a.Written and verbal English language proficiency is required. *Please bold all the required skill sets in the candidates work history.
