Role: Network Technical Support consultant Location: Danville, IL Duration: 6months Rate: $Negotiable Employment: Contractual Major Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Manage the Server & network infrastructure consisting of a primary data center and over 700 desktop clients. Ensure optimal configuration to support the changing business needs. 2) Provide operational and on-call support as required in a 24x7 environment and ensure highest level of customer support through proactive problem ownership and management, and adherence to change management standards. 3) Perform and assist with network design, network capacity planning, monitoring, reconfigure, and tuning of network hardware. 4) Oversee software and network security. 5) Documents network problems and resolution for future reference. 6) Create and update network documentation. 7) Manage Microsoft Windows Server based applications and ensure anti-virus updation & system patching. 8) Research, test, and implement business continuity, including Disaster Recovery, patch management, security, etc. 9) Maintain Asset Inventory for all IT related service agreements, licenses warranties and other hardware/software purchased. 10) Monitor, escalate and resolve support calls as per defined SLA & Quality definitions 11) Provide support to local & remote clients on supported applications 12) Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience needed. Qualifications/Necessary Skills: 1) 5+ years experience in a technical support role. 2) Working knowledge of configuration, support, and failure analysis of major vendors (HP servers & Dell desktops). 3) Experience operating a Enterprise WAN environment using MPLS, Internet, and VPN technologies with technical experience in the following areas: o TCP/IP network design o Routing protocols: EIGRP o Switched networks: VLAN, HSRP, ISL o VPN and Firewalls: L2TP, IPSEC, Radius/LDAP o Network monitoring o Voice Over IP 4) Certifications from Microsoft/Cisco would be a big plus. 5) Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Domain Infrastructures. 6) Experience planning, implementing, and maintaining systems with Windows 2003/Windows 2008 Operating systems. 7) Strong Troubleshooting Skills with Windows 2003 Server Problems 8) Experience with Symantec Antivirus Software using Symantec System Center 9) Experience with Change Management and Control Processes 10) Excellent oral and written communication skills. 11) Assertive and able to work successfully in a fast paced work environment. 12) Ability to proactively work on problems of diverse scope. 13) Strong initiative, resourcefulness and follow-through. 14) Exceptional organizational, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills. 15) Experience working with senior level management in a technology environment is preferred. 16) Ability to independently research problems and create solutions 17) Demonstrate High level of energy and flexibility.
