Position: Sr. Sybase DBA Location: Columbus Ohio Duration: 6months #1 Sr. Sybase Please submit any candidate with Sybase v15 with Unix, Aix and Replication Server experience. Or Submit #2 Sybase DBA Design and code an Access administration wrapper in T-SQL. Responsible for database health and stability; support activities of IT staff for specific applications by providing in-depth consulting to client, IT management and IT staff at a medium technical level. Identify and resolve information flow, content issues and transformation of business requirements into database definitions. Resolve all database-related issues and work closely with the Development, Project Management and staff. Four or more of years of Information Technology experience two year*s exposure to a major Relational Management Database System (RDBMS) such as Sybase. Expert in Transact SQL scripting for SYBASE databases Proficient in the understanding of SYBASE stored procedures High level experience and understanding of UNIX Shell scripting (korn, c-shell, bourne shell) Knowledge of SQL Good written and oral communications skills Ability to handle basic systems administration tasks for UNIX Ability to work well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise Successful experience as a member of a project group Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and the ability to work in a team Use of a data modeling tool such as Erwin, PowerDesigner or Designer/2000 Data modeling, data entity analysis, and database design skills may be required Ability to provide project cost and time estimates for database related tasks with minimal assistance Ability to manage large, complex databases with replication and multi-node configurations for SYBASE databases. May develop comprehensive DB architecture, implementation/upgrade plans Assists in definition of database standards, policies, and procedures High proficiency in database analysis and tuning Proficient in data quality and integrity analysis and tools Leads data requirements, architecture review, and modeling sessions The DBA should have a four-year (or higher) degree from an accredited university Regards, Gaurav Resource Manager Ling Technologies, Inc.
