Lisa - My bad. I've gotta learn to put more emoticons in my messages. :-) Actually I thought you had an excellent point, sorry for taking it in a different direction. I run and lift weights regularly (no coordination required) and feel regular exercise should be a part of the DBA's week. Medically proven to help you deal with stress. I've learned when I have a day where I'm swamped with work it is very important to do my noon run anyway because usually by the time I return I have a better solution to some of the problems. I think it keeps your brain from aging as fast, important if early retirement doesn't seem feasible.

Most of us can't feed ourselves on our physical abilities... my point was that most of the people I have met in IT are not into regular exercise of any type and thought I was crazy for going running over lunch. Sorry I did not mean to offend anyone in any way. I'll tape my trap shut now. -----Original Message----- <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ] Sent: Wednesday, January 29, 2003 5:30 PM To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L Lisa - Some of us became DBAs because we realized we would never be able to feed our families on our physical abilities. Just out of curiosity, how many people on the list have a group of DBAs at their company that they shoot hoops with? Some good points, some odd ones. I'll echo Patrice's sigh (as someone who enjoys both parts of the job).
