The only essential DBA tool is sqlplus. Modelling tools can be useful if you are involved in design (in which many DBAs are not); they can help getting a grasp of an existing application but how much they bring you depends on you. I have also seen AMC Designer (this is the old name, a tool now sold by Sybase as, I think, PowerDesigner or something like that) much used - and with Oracle more than Sybase. -- Regards, Stephane Faroult Oriole Software -- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.net -- Author: Stephane Faroult INET: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fat City Network Services -- 858-538-5051 http://www.fatcity.com San Diego, California -- Mailing list and web hosting services --------------------------------------------------------------------- To REMOVE yourself from this mailing list, send an E-Mail message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (note EXACT spelling of 'ListGuru') and in the message BODY, include a line containing: UNSUB ORACLE-L (or the name of mailing list you want to be removed from).
