You will have to be more specific about what's causing that error message. I don't know what that one would be, but I can help if you will send me the information, except for your password, for your mail server. I will show you how to put the information into the .emacs or .vm files in your home directory.
As far as the installation script for Oralux, it comes with it. Just do a change to root then, using whatever parameters, extra files and whatever you may have, you will just do this: knoppix-installer It works with the dialog script and will be very easy to use. At present, only the knoppix type install is even considered as an option. Only /dev/hda1 will be considered as the partition to install on, and the swap will be autodetected. Just remember to first of all, back up all your files onto another partition or disk entirely, before installing. They will be gone with the wind, so to speak if you don't. This is all you need.
