Sluggo and other iron phosphate preparations like Escar-Go are extremely effective on slugs....use it heavily...however, they are nearly useless against snails...and I have found that tiny bush snails thrive on Masdevallias...perhaps the problem is snails? Unfortunately, that makes it worse...I can't think of anything better than metaldehyde for them.......Take care, Eric Muehlbauer in very rainy Queens NY...paphs sukhakulii, barbigerum, and concolor in bud.....
