Something to keep in mind about StackOverflow is that there are certain types of questions that will get closed immediately: questions that require value comparisons between various products; SO is only for technical questions with measurable answers (How do I do X?), not conversations.
What ever support solution you choose, you're going to have to balance between spam prevention and being able to ask and answer questions without a lot of friction -- the more hope someone has to leap through in order to ask a question, the less likely someone will be to ask (or answer). Personally, I like Google Groups because (1) all of the history is in one place and easily searchable, and (2) I get all new messages emailed to me, which fits my existing workflow. A separate forum wouldn't be as convenient, for me, but others may feel differently. If you do go with a separate forum, please to port all of the existing message threads to the new forum, and support as many notification mechanisms as possible. - Craig - On Oct 13, 2015 03:31, "Krasimir Cholakov" <[email protected]> wrote: > +1 for separate Orient forum. > > -- > > --- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "OrientDB" group. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an > email to [email protected]. > For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout. > -- --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "OrientDB" group.
