I always call them "crease and collapse" models.  I would argue that you are
creasing the paper and not pre-creasing.
To me, a pre-crease would be like a notch fold (nick fold at the edge of a
paper), something that you do before you crease (and thus pre-crease)

Hello friendly folders… we had a lovely BOS zoom session yday (hosted by Ed
Holmes) and we folded couple models that were the kind where one precreases
precreases precreases and then collapses to the finished model. Many geometric
bowls or abstract flowers etc are of that style. And it got me thinking that
it’d be really nice to have a name for such models. I don’t have any thoughts
about what that origami style name would be so I’m asking the group… & I know
everything doesn’t need a name but i think it’d be nice to have one for this
genre… & also, it’s a big set of models…
If you have ideas for this, plz share. Thank you
Happy folding
Best,Vishakha.
