When I first made and heard about Chinese Thread Books, in the 90s, the ones I 
saw had twist boxes on top.  Folded and glued together., then glued on top of 
the box below.  
Now I use a variety of boxes I use for the ones.
And several different ways to make the inner boxes. 
I have made them in all sizes. From quite small to much larger. Some of mine 
have 20-30 different types and sizes of boxes in one “book”.
They are fun to make with different ways of opening, not different box types, 
but ways to configure them.
