IIRC, this is from way back before we had distro-specific RPMs. Now that we have that, this hack can probably be removed and we can have different RPMs for each distro that need it.
Duh -- looking a little further, it seems that we already *have* distro-specific RPMs for the modules package, so I'm guessing that this hack is no longer necessary.
Any objections to me simply removing it? We can see if anything breaks (I doubt that it will).
