Hi all,
After fixing the problem I had earlier in step 4, everything worked fine
until I tried to install the client nodes. If I boot over the network,
linux loads but then I get the message "no floppy diskette in drive" and
later "IP address not set with pre-boot settings". The dhclient program
prints out a startup message and then just hangs, constantly accessing
the floppy drive. If I start with a boot floppy, the same thing
happens, except instead of "no floppy diskette in drive", I get "no
local.cfg on floppy diskette".
From what I could gather from other messages, this means that the DHCP
server is not being found, and that it might have something to do with
my hardware. Is this correct? I'm sorry if this has been answered
before but I've gotten tired of waiting minutes each for the
list-archive pages to load : )
The network controllers are built into an Intel motherboard, if that helps.
David
