We need to be absolutely sure that the code in src/ is a dead end before deleting it. To my knowledge Therry Fleury did a good job in improving the usability of the GUI design. So: will the improved usability be reflected in the Tk GUI, too? Do you plan to move some of the ideas from the Qt GUI to Tk?
