I believe the OPD already puts things in /var/lib/oscar when you download
packages.

If you leave the scripts in place and just call them from the scriptlets,
that's perfect with me. This fulfills my requirement to be able to call
the
API scripts manually, when you fixed up something.

This is because it seems better to keep the OSCAR stuff in one place. And
easy
to access. Some things and tools are still in /opt/oscar/scripts, also the
main installer and wizzard are there, so why move part of the stuff to
/var/lib/oscar/packages/*/scripts?

I'm actually quite happy about your renaming and the choice of names. Only
this really needs some words from the people who designed the opkg API
very
long time ago (ORNL and others). And I believe it would be better to do
htis
in two steps. But if you provide an easy conversion, this should also be
easier to accept.
So actually we have more agreement than at first sight. Was maybe hidden
