I think it would be better putting the new Kernel-RPM capable of running this Gigabit-Card to the "rpmlist". If it works on the Server, it should also work on the Client! If this won't help, try to modify the regarding image on the server directly. (put a kernel with support of this NIC in there!) Hope that helps!
