Hi every body

First , I would like to say that I was able to install the all cluster using the NIC, Intel PRO/100 S with OSCAR 2.0.

I can't install the cluster using the NIC: Intel PRO/1000 MT. (both client and server have these NICs)

When using Intel PRO/1000 MT.
I can't complete the step 6.0 (Setup Networking) and install the image on client. The client MAC address was recognize ( with some difficulties ) and the PXE boot seems to initiate fine (found the DHCP server and obtain the right IP address). Than the image install process stop at some point (very beginning ) and I am told to press enter to go to a console mode. Sorry I don't remember the details.
Any way, the problem comes from the NIC intel PRO/1000 MT since I was able to complete this step and the rest of the install using an Intel PRO/100 S instead.

I thinks that the problems comes from the fact that the kernel originally distribute by redhat 7.3 (kernel 2.4.18-3) do not work with the Intel PRO/1000 MT, I could not find the module. However it does using their last Kernel (2.4.18-18.7).

Once I build the cluster using the NIC Intel PRO/100 , I try to install the Intel PRO/1000 on the client with the last Intel's driver. I could not compile it since the kernel source was not install on the client.

QUESTION: could I install an image which include the kernel source ? Apparently , from the manual, I can , but this is not clear to me .
should I add the kernel source RPM on the redhat-7.3-i386.rpmlist only ?

So I upgrade the Redhat with the kernel 2.4.18-18.7 (which has the module for the NIC Intel PRO/1000) hopping to install the new kernel using Kernel_picker.
I used a modified Kernel_picker's script since the original one given in OSCAR 2.0 did not work ( I replace "use Initrd2" by "use Initrd::Generic" as describe somewhere in the oscar-users list)

WHen running the kernel_picker, I have the following message:
--------------------------------------------------------
[root@mayro bin]# ./kernel_picker
List of OSCAR Images Available
------------------------------
1. orig
2. oscarimage
3. test
Select the OSCAR image to use [1] : 3
For the purposes of booting the kernel, enter
(1) The full path/name of the kernel file : /boot/vmlinux-2.4.18-18.7.x
Undefined subroutine &Initrd::kernel_version called at ./kernel_picker line 220, <STDIN> line 2.
-----------------------------------------------------------

QUESTION : What can I do ? :-))

All right. I would appreciate any ideas of how to install the NIC Intel PRO/1000 driver from Intel or install the new kernel which contain the new driver.

Also , You can't install OSCAR 2.0 after upgrading the original redhat distribution (RPM conflict) , but you can upgrade both client and server after OSCAR installation (using up2date for instance) , the doc is not clear about it. Is anybody has done it ?

Thanks very much for your help

Chris
