Excellent point.  As current czar of the docs, I have just updated them in
CVS to add a big note in the section describing the Add Clients panel:

  {\bf IMPORTANT NOTE:} Be sure that the resulting range of IP
  addresses does {\em not} include typical broadcast addresses such as
  $X.Y.Z.255$!  If you have more hosts than will fit in a single
  address range, see the note at the end of this section about how to
  make multiple IP address ranges.
