Hi,

I'm hitting a major wall. I've installed RH 7.3, applied all patches, installed OSCAR 2.1 and built images for my nodes. Err. Quite a few times now. The latest kernel is vmlinuz-2.4.18-19.7.xsmp, isn't it? The sysimager insists on using the older kernel. So I assume you use kernel_picker to "force" the new kernel. Here's what I get:

[root@forecast bin]# ./kernel_picker
Using the OSCAR image named 'forecast'...
For the purposes of booting the kernel, enter
(1) The full path/name of the kernel file : /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.18-19.7.xsmp
Undefined subroutine &Initrd2::kernel_version called at ./kernel_picker line 220, <STDIN> line 1.

Now where is Initrd2? There is an Initrd package in /usr/lib/systemconfig, but no Initrd2. I can't find the Initrd2.pm on CPAN, I can't work out if I'm not using a correct kernel file etc. I've had this problem before, but gave up. This is our second OSCAR cluster and I'm trying to do a "proper" job on it, so can anyone actually walk me through a kernel upgrade? And why doesn't the systemimager use the latest RPMs for the kernel that are in /tftpboot/RPM?

My life will become much sweeter if I can actually upgrade nodes, rather than not worry about it. Am I doing something stupid? Any pointers/help will be appreciated!

Thanks
