It is possible, tho I have my doubts if the DB is even the problem. You can try it though... When the server is NOT running...
rm /var/spool/pbs/server_priv/serverdb

Nope, still dies the same way.  Is it possible to manually delete the
database file, or will that screw things up monstrously?
