Hi Kashif:
 
Can you try to do a clean installation of your OS on the headnode before you try 4.2?  At a bare minimum please at least run the start_over script located in /opt/oscar/scripts to clean off any cruft from your system before trying a newer version.  We currently do not support any kind of upgrade path between versions and usually installing newer version on top on an existing version may cause problems.
 
Also, it is probably a good idea to try 4.2.1 instead of 4.2.
 
P.S. perl-XML-Simple is included with OSCAR, so you didn't need to install anything manually.

thanks for your help, But sorry that I keep nagging you.
Now I have installed OSCAR 4.2 but it gives error in wizard prepration.It asks for XML-simple =>2.08 so I installed XML-simple-2.14 but still it gives the same error.please help. I am using RHEL 3 update 2.
