Geoffroy,

Taking a look at the repo, it's clear that since my last oscar install/bootstrapping attempt you've brought things up to 6.0.2r8076-1 (I was still working with 6.0.1...) and so I'm once again paving the system back to a known point (fresh CentOS 5.2 install with updates) to go forward yet again. I'll let you know how it goes.

Interesting comment by Felipe about udev; when I last did a test install of Fedora 10 on a 2-NIC box I couldn't keep either NIC up through the regular configs, and in the logs I noticed udev was swapping the names of eth0 and eth1 at one point. I had to force the NICs on after boot with a "service network start" in /etc/rc.d/rc.local/S99local...

Anyway, I'll see how far we get this time. Fingers are crossed... If I encounter similar problems, I'll return to addressing your questions below.

-Chris

Chris,

Can you check if the systemconfigurator RPM is installed in your image? You should
have the binary
/var/lib/systemimager/images/<image_name>/usr/bin/systemconfigurator.

Thanks,

Do you have a
/var/lib/systemimager/images/<image_name>/etc/systemconfig/systemconfig.conf
file? You should have one, can you send to me the content of the file?

Yes I do. This appears to control only booting - which is not the
problem. Here's the file;

------------
# systemconfig.conf written by systeminstaller.
CONFIGBOOT = YES
CONFIGRD = YES

[BOOT]
        ROOTDEV = /dev/hda6
        BOOTDEV = /dev/hda
        DEFAULTBOOT = 2.6.18-92.el5

[KERNEL0]
        PATH = /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-92.el5
        LABEL = 2.6.18-92.el5
------------

Thanks,
Chris
