unfortunately flashamp isn´t os/free...you don´t know a similar free tool by
chance, do you? :)

Have you checked out FlashAmp: http://www.marmalademedia.com.au/

It doesn't export out xml but it should do the trick for you.

As a note: I would place the code it creates into a fla and then export out
as a swf with compression as a 60k text file could be compressed to 5-10k.
