Hi guys,

A quick email to give you a heads up on what's happening with the
OSFlash web site:

New project signups are currently on hold as we transition to an
automatic system. The old manual system just isn't working out as
neither John nor I (Aral) have time to go through the submissions and
that's not fair for you guys. I just got a developer friend of mine
(Dave) on board to start building this functionality.

The new system will also feature an online project panel so that
project leaders can add and remove users to their projects and manage
permissions. (You'll also be able to mark projects as private, etc.)

The focus here is to make OSFlash completely automatic so you don't
have to talk to anyone or wait for anything -- you'll be able to
manage everything yourself. This is something I've wanted for a long
time and hopefully it's going to make life easier for us all :)

To make it easier to transition, the new system will support all the
current features (SVN, Trac, mailing lists, etc.) and all projects
will be migrated automatically. If there are any features you have
been craving, do let me know. The focus will be on simplicity and we
will aim to have the minimum featureset necessary to enable you to
work efficiently so we may not be able to accommodate fringe requests
but if there is some core functionality that you feel is missing
today, now's the time to tell me about it! :)

We're just starting out on this and it will take approximately a month
of time for us to get the new system in place.

Here's to a new and improved OSFlash in the very near future! :)

Aral
