It depends on the obfuscator. It could potentially do any of the three. I wouldn't expect very significant changes, though.
There are obfuscators that simply rename identifiers, which could slightly change your filesize, but shouldn't affect code execution (unless I misunderstand how the swf is decompiled in the player). There are other obfuscators that rewrite the bytecode instructions, which could affect execution speed to some degree, but I doubt it's much. I know some obfuscators also offer features like encrypting strings in your swf. The requisite decryption would surely carry a cost. -austin -- Austin Haas Pet Tomato, Inc. http://pettomato.com On Mon Jun 09 18:35 , Niels Wolf wrote: > Stupid question: does obfuscation slow down, speed up or does nothing to > application speed? > > > On 6/7/08 4:02 AM, "Infos E-Blokos" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > it's EUR 2 per SWF encrypted online instantly. > > i tried and it works pretty well > > > _______________________________________________ > osflash mailing list > [email protected] > http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/osflash_osflash.org > _______________________________________________ osflash mailing list [email protected] http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/osflash_osflash.org
