That's great that you decided to settle for red5.
You can ask your question at http://groups.google.com/group/red5interest,
which is where most people familiar with red5 hang out.

If you're trying to stream from IceCast to red5, you'll also need to support
RTMP on the IceCast side (I assume IceCast doesn't support it, since in that
case you'd just be using IceCast to stream directly to Flash). In this case,
you might also want to take a look at Xuggler (
http://www.xuggle.com/xuggler/), which can re-encode your stream to a flash
friendly format and stream it to red5 using RTMP.
