Hi Kim,
In light of this I think what I shall do is find another library and change the back end code. It's not really a huge change, but i'll get on it as soon as I can.
Great news. Let me know how I can help.
Really though I think if that is the direction it's heading I will have to look at other more effecient techniques for generating the ocean geometry. Generating 64x64 grids of FFTs 25-30 times a second takes up a quite a signficant percentage of CPU time and I suspect this overhead would put people off using it in a real-time context when the alternatives are much quicker.
Sure. For now as a first step finding some other FFT library to use in precomputation as it is now would be enough. When we want to implement more dynamic behavior then we can the best way to do that.
Thanks again for all your hard work, J-S -- ______________________________________________________ Jean-Sebastien Guay jean-sebastien.g...@cm-labs.com http://www.cm-labs.com/ http://whitestar02.webhop.org/ _______________________________________________ osg-users mailing list osg-users@lists.openscenegraph.org http://lists.openscenegraph.org/listinfo.cgi/osg-users-openscenegraph.org
