FYI, I've made a small installer utility which could read a configuration file from local or network and then download binaries and developer files from specified website. It is done by NSIS and I've released both the installer of 2.9.9 and the source files with the beginners book (OpenSceneGraph Beginners Guide, Packt Publishing). I wonder if it could be of help for you to maintain prebuilts and thus provide an easy way for users to download them.
