After further testings, it seems that it doesn't totally solve the problem. The models do load, but some are corrupted (the geometry and maybe also materials are not right). I also managed to crash it on a specific point of the scene and here is the last call stack I can see:

May be worth a look. I am running on Windows XP by the way. I am currently using the .EXE installer (binaries only OSG install) so I lack the debug info DLLs. I will try to compile from the sources and see if I can dig further before the crash. Is it me or the MSVC project for OpenThreads vanished? How can I build this module with MSVC?

I'll post as I find other things.
