Also those who are hitting a fill-rate limit with less than 8 - remember
that PCI-E shares the bandwidth between the cards. E.g. my 16x PCI-E
drops to 8x with two cards installed, on the quad SLI machines it goes
down to 4x. That has a significant performance impact. On the old Onyx
this wasn't an issue - the interconnects between the video pipes and the
CPUs were dedicated, there was not only a single bus shared by all video
hw and the CPUs as on a PC.
