Please remember that N32 and N64 are both native to modern IRIX
systems.

And, please, tell me why what you call "cross compiling" works
for everything in OSG except these two (GIF and FreeType) plugins ?
Don't you think there is some minor nit in the build system ?

Can you please drop the tone.  I want to see these problems fixed, but
I don't have all the time, the available platforms and expertise
myself - I am only human.

My best guess w.r.t GIF and FreeType are that N32 and N64 versions are
being picked up by CMake initially.  It could be that only N32 or N64
versions are available.

I can't resolve these things myself, I'm afraid others, like yourself
need to learn a bit about CMake and engage with the CMake community to
get these fixed.  They will be fixable.
