There doesn't seem to be a mailing list or forum for newbies to get
general help with OSGi programming that is not specific to any
particular OSGi implementation. For example I have today received a
question by email as follows: "can I access a service through some
kind of static method rather than an instance of BundleContext". Yes,
we all know this is a wrong-headed question, but newbies to OSGi are
going to have questions like this, and they need a safe and welcoming
place to ask them and get answers.
This list is clearly not the right forum. Might I suggest creating an
"osgi-users" mailing list? Of course we would also need some OSGi
experts who are prepared to subscribe to the list and spend a little
time answering questions.
