"Creating Space for Effective Change" an international Open Space Technology workshop in the UK - October 25th-27th 2000
Hi - just in case you haven't heard, or the thought has just slipped your mind......... this is a quick reminder of a great chance to come to the UK countryside and steep yourself in Open Space learning at the same time...! This is a truly special opportunity to learn the principles and practicalities of Open Space Technology (OST) from both Harrison Owen AND Birgitt Williams - rarely available in one workshop... and with wonderfully different views on occasions. We will delve deeply into what it takes to really make the most of an Open Space program or event - from conception, to conversations with organisation sponsors and leaders, through practical set up, to facilitation and follow-through. Of course there will be a chance to personally experience the power and impact of Open Space. And everyone will have an opportunity to consider their own leadership and facilitation style, plus how they might most effectively apply Open Space thinking to their particular context right now. We will examine the long term impact and how to leverage the value of Open Space - including how to move to a genuine Open Space Organisation. And, with Harrison's guidance we will see how to transform organisations through understanding how to genuinely work with their spirit and consciousness. All of this will be placed within the context of the latest organisation and community change thinking from around the world. The tone of the program will reflect Open Space - high learning and high play. Hosted by Romy Shovelton and Martin Leith, this workshop is a brand new design. Building on the style of learning that has been so popular in three previous international Open Space workshops held in the UK, it also takes into account the increasing knowledge and experience of Open Space that many of those interested in OST workshops now have. This event will take place in beautiful countryside south of London (and close to Gatwick Airport), in the wonderful surroundings of Roffey Park Institute. Combining first class learning and leisure facilities with a reputation for representing the most current and innovative management thinking, Roffey has proved a big hit on previous workshops.
