Murray, We have had success in applying Apppreciative Inquiry and OS
together in business planning with an agency in the Canadian public service.
We worked with the leadership team to identify issues and opportunities to
be addressed in the business plan - mainly around OD, OE, HR- and then used
these as the topics for dialogue and inquiry. It worked well in this context
where there was much cynicism about change after 5 years of  top-down driven
reorganizations. The invitation to participate was as significant and
powerful in rebuilding trust and excitement about change as were the
specific strategies and tactics that resulted. I don't have the details with
me at this time, but topics included information sharing, communications and
teamwork; rewards and recognition; performance; professional and career
development; training....
