Here's a thought to try sometime: Perhaps we could create an evaluation process that was done in open space. Right after the meeting, or perhaps the next day, invite anyone who wants to, and no one has to ;-) to come to an OST meeting to discuss what just happened. Then we could open space for a few hours and kick around the experience.
When Michael, Judi and I were in Alaska last month, we did a practice workshop after two days of an OST conference. Most of the people in the workshop had been at the conference, and as the first day was all about "What is OST?" there was a lot of reflection on the conference that had just been. In several of the small groups, there was a palpable sense that the quality of the experience was very much up to the expereincer and not the process. In many conversations I had, we started out talking about the process and ended up talking about responsibility. So I strongly echo what Michael has to say, and now I'm thinking that a really cool way to evaluate an OST event would be by using OST to create the swirling, inward spiraling reflection that gets at the essence of the experience. Anyone game to try it?
