Doug, a few thoughts about this: I would think the seniors to be the experts on this issue. Why don´t bring them together with the health care staff and I am sure they will solve the problem. About the divided OS meeting. I once facilitated a two-day meeting with two weeks dividing the two days. I did not feel any loss of energy between the meetings but we had two whole days and I am not sure that you get enough energy to continue from only one hour of discussion. Some issues might also take more time to discuss than one hour and we are asking people to take their time and to continue until they are done and I feel this is so short. When I facilitated the two day divided event I made a short reopening the second day so they had possibility to post new issues and they also had the reports from the first meeting sent out in between. I think OST always works as a meeting method but what is interesting with OST are the results and by that I mean the way people participates and goes on working with the issues they have passion for also after the event. The event is often only a starting point for something much bigger. And if this is what we want, I also think we should fight for the participant´s right to have their space of time to go deeply in the discussion of their issues. I think that what might happen in a discussion is that a sort of window opens to let us see other pictures and sometimes also the bigger picture and we can learn about other people´s world views. And like all creativity that can not be ordered and must be given some space (time). Blessings Eiwor
