Hello Artur, and I apologize for the mistake in how I spelled your name. For me, the word "givens" is not of importance so much as the conceptual constructs that are in the being of the facilitator and in what he/she communicates to the organization.

I have already answered to Chris and I think that we are all in agreement about the essential. But if the givens "are not givens at all", may I ask why some of you call them "givens"? (And, of course, this is not personal - I am trying to understand if the g-word is the correct one and not to blame the person who has first introduced it in the OST jargon, even if that could be determined...) >IOn this list, we often write about all of the wonders of an OST meeting. I think that there are at least two flavours in our "Community of Practice" - some consider themselves mainly as "OSF facilitators"; some consider that, in addition, they are also consultants in the domain of the "Open Organizations" or "Open Space Organizations". And I think that some of us consider them, in addition to that, but more generally, to be facilitators for an "Open Society" or an "Open Space World" (a third flavor). Speaking for myself, I think that all those flavors are within the scope of this list. And I followed very attentively your report of your old experience with an OSO and surely would like to know more about more recent experiences with "Open Space Organizations".
