Hi Harrison! Your message ties two themes currently under discussion on this list together for me: the arts and strategic planning. That's because it was a strategic plan that I was working on with the Washington State Arts Commission (see http://www.opencirclecompany.com/OSWSACStory.htm).
This topic seems "up" at the moment. I was just in a conversation last week with Wendy Morris, who works at the intersection of arts and process. She told me of a group that has been using OS at the heart of their performance work for years. They're called The Ways Ensemble. Here's something on their latest work: http://www.jazzpolice.com/content/view/7316/115/ from an unusually sunny Seattle, Peggy ________________________________ Peggy Holman The Open Circle Company 15347 SE 49th Place Bellevue, WA 98006 (425) 746-6274 www.opencirclecompany.com For the new edition of The Change Handbook, go to: www.bkconnection.com/ChangeHandbook "An angel told me that the only way to step into the fire and not get burnt, is to become the fire". -- Drew Dellinger ----- Original Message ----- From: Harrison Owen To: osl...@listserv.boisestate.edu Sent: Friday, October 12, 2007 1:08 PM Subject: Re: [OSLIST] Join us live today for an Open Space on comunity art and engagement Good Show Chris and all the rest of the folks. Following along in the footsteps of Phelim McD! Seems to me that we must be generating quite a body of knowledge about OS in the Arts Community. Not all that long ago, Peggy Holman was working with the Arts Councils in Washington State, and I am sure there are others. It would be really interesting to pull some of that together. There are many sessions underway at th emoment and the harvest will be added to the incredibly active online space, which has taken the form of a tea party, buzzing in cyberspace. Please join us today and for the rest of the conference tomorrow if that sort of thing interests you. And if not, you might want to take a look at how the organizers of this conference are using Open Space and social networking to generate a great buzz. the energy in the room is alive and the online conversation is hot too.
