Dear Franklin,
if your begging Lisa Heft for a slot or two for the December training
has anything to do with money, you are invited to approach the Open
Space World Map project for assistance.
In the meantime, you are invited to include yourself in the Open Space
World Map so that I can spot you next time I am on the island of Cebu...have a look at the other colleagues in the Philippines
http://www.openspaceworldmap.org/

And you others out there are also invited to join the 463 os-workers already populating the world map
Greetings from Berlin

Of course, you have my permission and I wish to share much when given
the opportunity to do so. Tomorrow I am leaving for the Island of
Cebu to conduct an OS with members of Electric Utilities in the
country which is handling the missionary task of bringing power and
electricity to the countryside.

Ears on the ground, this could be strategic planning, action planning
or whatever. But I am willing to share whatever little I have
learned from you and Gail West.

I have also begged Lisa Heft to give me a slot or two for the
December 19-21 training in San Francisco.

Thanks a lot for the encouragement Harrison.

What I am doing so far when people ask me about OST is the elevator
type speech which you did, cowboy like, in the car.

Peace be unto you.

And a comment on “energy” in an Open Space. We sometimes think that
when people are not racing about and sharing marvelous new insights
that nothing is happening. At such times some one may remark that the
“energy is low.” My experience of such moments is rather different.
To me it is not so much about the energy being “low” – as if that
were somehow not a good thing. Rather, I find the energy just to be
different. In fact some of the best moments I have experienced in
Open Space occur when everybody is totally silent, just sitting there
content with the silence. For me the capacity of a group to sit in
total silence just enjoying the silence and each other is a prime
indication that everything is working to perfection.

Mine was a positive onem although I felt embarassed.

It was a sharing before the closing circle to a whole day OS activity
in Kisarazu, Chiba Japan which was facilitated by Gail West.

I had my computer repaired by a friend.

Everyone was tired and participants energy was a bit low, when the
computer which was defective said: YOUR BATTERY IS LOW.

Everyone laughed and regained back their energy.

That encouraged me to be a follower of OST.

GOD BLESS.

I can one-up you, Thomas. In the holy space of Yom Kippur, toward the
end of the full-day fast, as a speaker reached the climax of a talk
about the holiness of silence, believe it or not, my cellphone rang.
Understand, I run programs on human dignity and cellphone abuse is
one of the examples that come up as people explore the ways in which
they abuse each other’s space, and here I was, Dr. Dignity,
forgetting to turn off before entering the synagogue. If people had
not been in a Yom Kippur-ish forgiving mood, I would have been tarred
and feathered!

Meanwhile, I am promoting our opening space at the Jewish-Arab school
which my daughter attends here in Jerusalem. I’d be happy to hear
from folks who have done this sort of thing. I will be presenting the
idea to the school parents’ committee Wednesday, and I’m thinking
that we should go for inviting to the space all teachers, parents,
perhaps the older students (7-9th graders) and assorted additional
stakeholders. 450 kids learn thee, so it could be a big event. Any
thoughts, tips from people’s experience will be appreciated. Thanks
much in advance,

Hi

I have a confession to make. I, as the facilitator, was a space
invader today!

Just when I said the final words...I now invite you to come to the
center of the circle....my cell-phone rang!

Did that ever happen to anyone else in our community, I wonder??

Quite funny, actually. – And of course – it still worked.

Warm regards

Thomas
