FYI--I have had the conversations/os that you helped me think through a few
weeks ago. Thank you for your insight and wisdom. It worked well--especially
thanks to Harrison, Michael, Tova and Brendan. I think you were the one's who
responded directly. If I missed someone, I apologize. It was all helpful.
The first night, I opened the space as wide as I could inviting the stories
that needed or wanted to be spoken. The first night was planned to be fairly
short, but 2 1/2 to 3 hours later, they finished the stories for the night and
returned the talking object to the center.
The next day, we invited the conversations.

They seemed to be able to name the elephants in the room and begin to take some
responsibility and steps toward addressing them. Wow!
Once again, thanks.Craig

Thanks for your response along with the others. Very helpful.
The space and possibilities are getting more and more open. The collective
wisdom is amazing. I look forward to seeing what grows out of this experience.
Regardless of what they get out of it, I have gleaned deeply from your
responses.
Am open to any other insights and wisdom that come to mind. Thanks again,Craig

I love the ritualising of story and personal/collective mythology...thanks for
refreshing memory Tova
When I've used a similar process, we occasionally have a bit of a 'wake'
to finish off the storytelling session....what people need to let go might be
written down on a piece of paper, collected and burned in a ritual of letting
go - maybe even the ashes buried and a tree planted...using the fertility of
our collective experiences and wisdom to prepare that 'rich nutrient
environment' for opening the space into our future together....
I also invite discernment around holding on to what you're not yet ready to let
go - and bring that also into the new space that's opening now
Best wishes for a great learning experience, Craig
CheersBrendan

invitation in mind (not an AI one)something like : “as a way of bringing
yourself, bringing your voice to here. As a way of making room for this process

calling f
or stories that you feel moved to tell, stories that want to be told. Sad
stories and glad stories, funny stories and mad stories…. All are invited and
welcome to show up and be heard and stay with us as a rich and fertile ground “
or something JThe point I am trying to make is to invite with patience , with
vast time and space (it may take few hours) and it is best if it is an evening
before the OST with a talking stick and deep listening. This will also help you
and all that are there to recognize and appreciate the emotions, narratives and
motivations in the roomHope it is helpfulTova From:
