As a "kind-of-temporary-fix", I managed the following (not ACTUALLY searchable fix, but at least get them to show ALL postcodes on the map, for now)....
OsmAnd+ menu. (Or main screen / search). Search / Categories (scroll to bottom). Custom search (scroll to bottom). User defined / click on. Choose "user defined other postcodes"....click "Show" (bottom of screen). Top right of screen - click the two opposing arrows, icon. Top right of screen again - click the three dots menu icon. SAVE filter (I named it "@ POSTCODES", to keep it top of the POI list). Now, when searching - choose categories & @ POSTCODES shows, to enable "show on the map".
