here's what I did -

I set up a 32G partition using BootCamp (default FAT32).
I proceeded from within Bootcamp to start the installation.
I inserted the Vista ULTIMATE edition disc 1.
I entered the license number.
When prompted for install partition, I selected the 32G BOOTCAMP drive.
I clicked on DRIVE OPTIONS.
I clicked on FORMAT.
I clicked continue (or whatever) to continue the installation.
Walked away.
Came back and found a big alert saying:

"Windows cannot install the required files. The file may be corrupt
or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are
available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070017"

It doesn't tell me WHICH file it failed on, unfortunately.
Nonetheless, I can't see where I went wrong ... there are only a few
buttons to click to initiate the installation process.
I'm installing on my local, main 1T drive in my DUAL QUAD. I've got
the latest Mac OS X installed with all updates.

Maybe the Vista disc is bad.
